Niche websites are a great way to earn extra money online, but making them profitable will take some work.
Before you can start creating niche websites, you have to pick a profitable niche, right?
Selecting the right niche for your new website isn’t always easy, but there are several ways to find it.
The easiest first step is to think about what you like to do. Personally I like video games, fitness, and personal finance books so I would start with those.
You could also pick other niches based on what your friends and family buy, what you see everyone in the store buying, or checking out websites like Amazon or eBay that sell thousands of different products every day.
I’ve even met affiliate marketers who used the news to find out what’s hot right now.
If you heard that a new movie just topped the box office and smashed expectations, don’t you think it’d be worth a shot getting into that niche?
Nowadays your whole niche can be just that movie, as there are lots of spin-off products like toys and a soundtrack that you can sell on your niche website.
Now that you’ve found your great niche, find some good affiliate programs for you to market. Amazon is great because they have so many different products, but there are lots of other programs.
Just type (your niche) +affiliate program in Google and you’ll most likely be able to find something. If not, try looking for affiliate programs for specific products within your niche.
The third step is to actually make the website. I highly recommend creating your own website to give you maximum flexibility. There are lots of templates online, and if you have a friend who knows how to build websites I recommend getting assistance from them as well.
Congratulations! Your niche website is up, so you’re in business, right?
Nope, just one more very important thing- you have to get your name out there. There are several ways to do that:
-Internet marketing
-Direct mail
-Face to face (handing people you meet your business card with the website on it)
Internet marketing obviously has the largest audience, accessible for a fraction of the price of the other two choices. However direct mail and face to face contact definitely have their places.
That’s pretty much it! Like I said it took a little work to set up a profitable niche website, but it’s a very inexpensive way to set up your own business. Good luck!
